SIP-terminal is designed to implement IP telephony within the distributed system configuration. IP telephony can be implemented with or without physical SIP-devices. Thus, the SIP-terminal allows organizing single and group calls between operators and SIP-devices in the Server/Remote Admin Workstation/Remote Client configurations.

SIP-devices are IP devices, mainly intercoms and call panels, connected to Axxon PSIM via the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).
Axxon PSIM supports two codecs for data exchange with SIP-devices: PCMA and PCMU.
Axxon PSIM can act both as a server and as a client. The SIP server for the Axxon PSIM SIP client can be either third-party Asterisk software or the Axxon PSIM's SIP server.
SIP-devices are configured on the settings panel of the SIP-terminal object created on the basis of the Computer object on the Hardware tab of the System Settings dialog box, and also on the settings panel of its child objects.
