Previous page Configuring video frame rate  Configuring video in the Pre-alarm record mode Next page

The Hot record mode is a video recording mode in which the frame rate of the video stream increases when an alarm is detected.

Note.

The Hot record mode settings are not applied when the Camera object is created under the Video capture device object using H264, MPEG4 or H265 codec.

By default, this mode is disabled: when an alarm is detected, the video is recorded at the frame rate specified in the Recording frame rate parameter (see Configuring video frame rate) or at the default rate if the Recording frame rate parameter is not specified. To enable the Hot record mode, do the following:

  1. Go to the Hardware tab in the System settings dialog box (1).
  2. Select the Camera object corresponding to the required camera in the objects tree (2). The settings panel for the selected object is displayed on the right of the Hardware tab.
  3. Go to the Basic settings tab on the settings panel of the Camera object (3).
  4. In the "Hot record" rate field (4) specify the frame rate for hot recording of the alarm event.
The value specified in the "Hot record" rate parameter allows you to calculate the time interval (in milliseconds), after which it is necessary to capture a frame for recording into the archive. The calculation is made according to the formula:
Time interval = 1000 / The value specified in the "Hot record" rate field
The value of this parameter should not exceed the value of the frame rate with which the video signal is digitized.
  5. In the "Hot record" time field (5) specify the interval in seconds from the moment of alarm registration or the start of recording, during which the video is recorded with the frame rate specified in the "Hot record" rate field.

    Note.

If there is an end of alarm event while recording in the hot record mode, then recording to the archive will be with the same rate as hot record until the end of specified interval.
  6. Click the Apply button (6).

Note.

If the Recording frame rate parameter is set to non-zero, regardless of its value of recording to the archive is performed only by anchor frames if H.264 codec is in use. If the "Hot record" rate parameter for H.264 codec is also in use, then the recording to the archive will be performed by anchor frames too. If the Recording frame rate parameter is set to 0 or not set, all frames are recorded to the archive.
