The VMDA detection tools react to object movement. When they trigger, an alarm is generated. On the basis of this alarm, you can perform actions in the system.

If you want to initiate an alarm on a camera when the VMDA detection tool triggers, set the Generate alarm on camera checkbox.

Note

You can set the alarm generation mode for any type of VMDA detection tools using the VMDA.oneAlarmPerTrack registry key (see Registry keys reference guide).

You can arm and disarm the VMDA detection tools using macros or scripts, which must be created manually (for the detailed information about macros, see Creating and using macros). By default, the detection tool is armed after creation.

The table below describes possible reactions on detection tool triggering (for example, on line crossing or motion in the area).

The Generate alarm on camera checkbox is setAlarm on camera + alarm on detection toolNothing happens
The Generate alarm on camera checkbox is clearAlarm on detection toolNothing happens

Note

The Disappearance in area detection tool triggers immediately after an object in the area disappears. By default, the alarm is reset 15 seconds after the alarm triggers. You can change the alarm reset time using the DisappearedAlarmDuration registry key (see Registry keys reference guide).

To create a VMDA detection, do the following:

  1. Go to the Hardware tab in the System settings dialog box.
  2. Select the Tracker object in the objects tree on the Hardware tab.
  3. Create the VMDA detection object on the basis of the Tracker object. The settings panel of the VMDA detection object will be displayed in the right part of the Hardware tab.

Note.

Video from the camera on the basis of which the VMDA detection object is created is displayed in the Video field.

The VMDA detection is now created.

Next, you must select and configure the motion variant to which the detection tool will trigger:

Attention!

When you create VMDA detection on IP cameras, you must consider the information in Requirements for IP devices.
