Preconfiguration of servers

Before combination of Servers to the consolidating the Servers into cluster, do the following:

1. Install the Windows Server of one of the following edition to both Servers: 
   a. Windows Server 2008 R2 EnterpiseEnterprise,
   b. Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter,
   c. Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard.
2. Add both servers to one domain.
3. Using the Add Features Wizard add the Failover Clustering feature to both servers.
   
   
4. Enter the following parameter for the RAID supporting as a storage for cluster to the register:
   Location − —HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ClusDIsk\Parameters,
   Name − —AllowBusTypeRAID,
   Type − —DWORD,
   Value − 1—1
   (see Working with Windows OS registry).
5. Restart both serversServers.
6. Create three disks on the common RAID array:
   a. to work in quorum and to store the cluster configuration,
   b. to store the Axxon PSIM database,
   c. to store video archive.
7. In the Storage → - Setup menu, set Assignment Mode in the Multiple Assignment position.
8. In the Virtual Disks - → Assign menu, set the Full accessAccess value for all servers.
9. Enter the first server. Start the disks control consol and initialize all three disks.
10. Switch over the disks to online mode, create sections on all disks and format them.
11. Switch over the disks to offline mode.
12. Enter the second server and initialize the disks such in the same way.

To combine consolidate two Servers to the into cluster and configure the Axxon PSIM software, do the following:

1. Installthe required version of Axxon PSIM software of proper version on both Servers before combination consolidating them to clusterinto cluster (see Installing and removing Axxon PSIM).
2. Set the AxxonSoft\PSIM\PSIMRunService\InheritServiceEnvironment parameter with the value 1 in the registry.
3. Stop the SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) and AxxonSoft Axxon PSIM Core Server services on both Servers and switch over them to the manual type of start.
4. Start the Failover Cluster failsoft executive programManager on the one of servers Servers (or remotely).
5. Select Act - → Create cluster. The Cluster creation wizardCreation Wizard will launch.
6. Add both servers which are supposed to use for the failsoft failover cluster.
7. Specify NetBios name and the IP - address for the failsoft failover cluster (this data will be in use used for connection of the settings panelconsole).
8. Complete the cluster creation.
9. Configure the role on cluster. Select Add service - → Generic Service in the High availability Availability Wizard.
   
   
10. Select the AxxonSoft Axxon PSIM Core Server service.
11. Configure the NetBios name and the IP - address for the service (these parameters will be used for connection to the Axxon PSIM software).
12. Complete the role configuration.
13. Set the dependence on the Name and the IP - address on the Dependence tab in the service settings of service.
14. Set the Use network name for computer name checkbox (regardless of the letter case in the cluster settings, the name will be transmitted in capitals apart of the registry in settings of cluster) checkbox capital lettters) on the General tab.
15. Go to the role settings and select Add service - → Generic Service.
16. Select the SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) service.
17. Complete the adding of the service.
18. Select the AxxonSoft Axxon PSIM Core Server service and perform Off the line action.
19. Enter the Server, which is specified as the Owner unit. Disconnect the Axxon PSIM database in SQL, replace move the database files on to the disk of in the failsoft failover array and connect the database again.
20. Set the user name In the idb.exe, set the username and password for the database connection in the (see The idb.exe utility for converting databases, selecting database templates and making backup copies of databases).
21. Start the Tweaki.exe and rename the computer to the name of failsoft the failover cluster (see Tweaki.exe utility for advanced setup of the Axxon PSIM software system).
22. In the cluster setting settings, select Additional actions - → Replace primary cluster resources - → Select unit. Specify the second Server.
23. In the SQL, disconnect ald the old databases and connect new databases from the disk in failsoft the failover array.
24. Change the user name username and password for the database connection in the idb.exe.
25. Start the AxxonSoft Axxon PSIM Core Server in the Failover Cluster failsoft executive programManager.
26. Start the Axxon PSIM software. Ensure in Make sure that the start accuracyis correct.
