The Save configuration function allows saving the current configuration parameters of an object to a file with the extension .cfg, so that the parameters can be re-used to configure other objects or to restore configuration parameters after unexpected loss (for example, if an object is accidentally deleted).

After Save configuration is selected in the menu, a standard Windows dialog box appears, in which you can specify the name of the configuration file and location in which you want to save it. By default, the file name includes the name of the object type and its number, for example CAM.1.cfg or GRABBER.3.cfg.

The saved configuration can be applied to any object of the type used to create the configuration file. To do so, use the Load configuration function (see the section The Load configuration function).
