Previous page Configuring macros  Starting the Event rules macros based on statistical data Next page

Start conditions are events in the system that trigger a macro start. When you create event macros, you can select one or more start conditions.

If you specify several conditions, a macro can start when any of the specified conditions are met. In addition, macro events can start when specified statistical conditions are met (see Starting the Event rules macros based on statistical data).

The table shows examples of start conditions to trigger a macro:

You can set a threshold for these type of events—the time in seconds (0 to 3600) between switching from Signal lost to Signal restored state. For example, if a 10-second threshold is set for the Signal lost condition, then at least 10 seconds must pass between the last Signal restored event and the new Signal lost event to start the macro

Triggering start

Attention!

If start conditions for a macro include a Triggering start event, any changes in macro's settings that have been saved while the detector is generating an event (before the Triggering end event) lead to re-running the macro.

The same logic is applied when you create a macro. If you are creating a macro, and the detector is generating an event, the macro is run immediately after the creation is complete.

Triggering end
Preset change

For these events, you must specify the preset number and the reason for the action:

  1. Error.
  2. Entered: the action occurs if you select a preset (see Creating and editing presets) with the selected number while controlling a camera (see Controlling a PTZ сamera).
  3. Manual: the action occurs when you manually change the position of a camera when a preset is selected (see Control using step buttons and virtual joystick)
ArchiveArchive partition error

When you select an event from an archive, a macro starts when this event is received from any archive or a specific archive

Archive partition restored
Time scheduleBeginning

When you select an event from a time schedule, a macro starts when this event is received from a specific time schedule

End
Server

Server disconnected

When you select an event from a server, a macro starts when this event is received from a specific server

Server connected
License server

Connection to license server broken

When you select an event from a license server, a macro starts when this event is received from a specific license server

Connection to license server restored
Event source

Specify event text

You must specify a word or phrase. When it comes up in the captions, the macro starts.

For example, this filter starts the macro when the word "Water" appears in the captions.

If a macro is started by a simultaneous combination of words and/or values, use curly braces for logical AND. For example, {Water} {Belgium} {River}

You can select events from detectors as start conditions for a macro. For example, you can configure a macro that triggers when smoke is detected in a room by a smoke detector and initiates an alarm. If you select an event from a detector, a macro triggers when that event is received. The table shows examples of detector events:
